With one heeled foot up on the silver bar that ran along the bottom of the pub’s bar for its patron’s feet to rest on, the redhead gazed around the building. It was dimly lit; which was customary for any joint now a days, and it was slightly hard for her to see much of anything on the other end. She was looking to make a deal; she needed the money and fast. Well, she didn’t totally need it, but it was always good to have cash on hand. And she wasn’t picky about what she was going to sell; marijuana, cocaine or heroin –it was really all the same to her.
Jewels wore one of her usual outfits that consisted of a black dress that ended half way down her thighs with red fish-net stockings. The female’s hair was pulled up into a half-assed bun to keep it off her shoulders and her amber eyes peered through the shitty bar lighting looking for someone who could possibly need something as well as have the money to buy.
Sunken eyes and a pale face is what she was truly looking for; someone who seemed to need it bad, someone who was jonesing hardcore –they’d pay anything for the shit they wanted. Jewels was definitely the “go-to” girl when it came to drugs –and almost everyone knew it, if she wasn’t holding she could get it quick; especially if someone wanted it and could pay good.
Her own pale hand reached to her left and picked up the brown bottle of brew, brought it to her lips and took a long, satisfying swig. The cool, amber liquid cooled her throat. All the smoke in the bar was getting to her but that was fine with her, she didn’t have to smoke as much of her own since she was exposed to other people’s second hand toxic fumes. The female smiled slightly as her other hand trailed up her face and brushed a piece of bang from her amber eye.
A sigh escaped her lips and she finally gave in as somebody beside her lit a cigarette. She placed the bottle back onto the bar and grabbed the pack of smokes that were sitting there along with her zippo and lit one. Jewels inhaled the smoke and let it slowly slip from her lips as she grabbed the bottle again and finished the liquor inside it; the tender instantly replaced it with another.
”Thanks, dollface.” She gave the cute girl behind the counter a little wink and finally decided to sit on the stool she’d been standing beside for some time. Heels were not her favourite thing in the world, but she absolutely loved how they looked with her outfit and the sound they made while walking on an abandon sidewalk in the middle of the night.

To Jason Levito, sobriety could not and did not exist. It was simple to him; he couldn’t live sober because when he did he was in a living hell. The singer didn’t find it particularly terrible that he used, he didn’t find it terrible when he was stoned at least. When he was sobering up, when he was crashing, then he thought that it was a horrible thing. Well, he only thought that the times that he wasn’t writhing in the pain of withdrawals and the hunger for more cocaine. He had become so dependent on the drug that without it, the man could barely function, he could barely survive. No matter how much the moral part of him may have wanted to have gotten clean, the junkie part of him was stronger. That part of him was more powerful, and that part controlled his thoughts more then the moral part.
It hurt sometimes to see the look of shame in Amber’s eyes when she knew her dad wasn’t okay. She was three and a half years old and she had already realized her father was no superman, and Jason had believed that little girls always believed that their father was superman. Amber already knew, and that had already broken Jason’s heart, what is left of his heart at least. It was things like Amber knowing her dad wasn’t superman that made him do the things he was doing tonight. Those kinds of things made him go to a club or a bar and get completely trashed. He acted just the way that he did before he’d had a child.
People would ask what kind of a father would party all night and sleep all day and still believe that they deserved custody of their child. People thought he was wrong, people said he wasn’t fit to be a father. They were all right. While Jason drank himself into a stupor, got himself higher than the stratosphere his daughter waited for him to come home, waited for him to pick her up from her mothers. Jason wasn’t fit to be a father at all.
He didn’t make eye contact with many of the people that were in the crowded bar tonight. He just pushed passed them, looking for the red haired woman that always had exactly what he needed on a bad day(or a good day). To some he went unrecognized, others whispered about who he was as he passed them and soon the buzz that Jason Levito was at Wild Bills that night spread like wildfire. Over top the heads of many people and through the crowd Jason finally spotted who he was looking for. He walked behind Jewels, placing his hands on both of her shoulders and kissed the nape of her neck softly as his hello. “It’s been too long.” Jason said to the women, taking a seat on the stool beside her. He looked to the bartender and waved her over. Jason ordered a Corona, it was really all he wanted at the moment.
“I’ve missed you, Jewels.” Jason said to the red head with a smile cutting into his lips. His wicked yet charming smile, well maybe in this case it was only charming by that irresistible English accent that rolled off his tongue quite beautifully. The male licked his lips from habit and took his beer from the bartender, bringing it to his mouth and taking a drink from it. His icy eyes narrowing on the woman in front of him as he spoke, “I need something, and I know you’ve got it.” The man stated simply, it was all he needed to say because Jewels would know what he wanted, or what he needed.

The redhead hadn't been paying attention to the bar's patrons after the tender gave her the drink she ordered. She finished it quickly and asked for another. By the time she was done her third glass, only five minutes had gone by. It was unusual for Jewels to drink much when she was doing business; or hoping to do business. She needed her head more than anything, she needed to know if she was ripping herself off.. but maybe she just needed to clear her head. It wasn't even her problems she needed to clear her head of, anyways..
It's his problem.. she tried to tell herself; almost every day. If he doesn't get it together then it's his fault. Jewels shook her head and sighed. "It's mine too" She said under her breath. Jewels, being a dealer, couldn't just say no to people... especially her best customer; especially Jason Levito. Another sigh escaped and she looked around for the tender to order another drink. Only in time to see the man of her thoughts walking through the crowd. She knew, somewhere in her head, that he'd find her there. Just say no.. Jewels laughed at herself. Like she could say no to Jason Levito, that's one hell of a knee slapper.
It has to be done, All of her previous thoughts vanished as she felt his strangely soft lips on the back of her neck. A bolt of electricity ran down her spine and she sighed, a smile curved the corners of her lips. "Definitely too long." Jewels breathed and her smile slightly faultered as his hands let go of her shoulders. Turning to him, now, her smile returned with more force than before. His face; the beauty and angelical look of it startled her every time she saw it. Of course she knew every wrinkle and every line off by memory but it still amazed her to no end.
Jewel's eyes glazed over and she smiled wider. I've missed you, Jewels. Oh that accent. It wouldn't even have mattered to her if he had said that she was a drowned sewer rat for god sakes, she still would've loved to hear it. The thought made her laugh and she looked down on her new glass, full of alcohol and soda. "You know I've missed you." Jewels looked back to the beauty of a man beside her. "Seems to me you've been busy with other dealers... You only call me when you can't seem to find anything else?" She phrased it as a question, but she knew there was some truth in it and that she could've just stated it plainly. But she didn't. There was no need to be bitter.
He was here now, with her. And that was all that mattered, right? Well, no. Amber mattered to her, and him -even though it didn't seem that way. She wanted him to become a better father. How was she supposed to tell her best customer and the love of her life to quit the shit that basically keeps him alive. Jewels knew that he wouldn't be able to handle another rehab visit; she didn't want to be the one to tell him, but it had to happen... Later. She told herself. Rent has to be paid. Jewels sighed and nodded. She hadn't been listening persay, but she knew what he was saying.
After pounding back her drink and setting the glass back on the counter, she ran a hand through her hair and touched his cheek with her free one. "Follow me, darlin'." She smiled cheerfully and began weaving her way through the crowd. She didn't have to glance back to know he was behind her.

The idea that maybe Jewels Haden was in love with him never actually crossed his mind. The idea that maybe Jewels wanted to do more than just sleep with him however, had crossed his mind a few times. He had never noticed a fake smile towards him, not coming from Jewels because perhaps he had never noticed exactly what her real smile looked like. Jason brought his beer bottle to his lips and nearly finished it with only a few swallows. “Babe, you know you’re always gunna be my favorite.” The English man swore to her, his eyes catching hers. The icy blue eyes that must have been permanently clouded by drugs, the eyes that could have made anyone want him.
Jewels was not the only dealer that Jason got his fix from, how could he have one dealer? It seemed impossible even if it was the safest route for a man of his celebrity. Jason played a very dangerous hand of cards when it came to drugs. Not only did he come close to an overdose nearly every time he got stoned, but he bought off of a lot of people. “One of these days I’ll make you the only one.” Jason said to her, once again bringing the beer to his lips, this time finishing it off.
“I promise.” He said as he put the now empty beer bottle on the bar. His smile returned as Jewels stood up, he stood up following her. She didn’t turn him away, no drug dealer would turn Jason Levito away, they could rip him off and he would know it and still he wouldn’t give a shit. Jason would pay twice the cash for what he wanted if that was what the dealer wanted for it. He didn’t care how easily and how stupidly he threw his money away. There was no reason to care because he’d already thrown most of his life away too. He threw his life away when he was fifteen years old and ten years later he still didn’t care about it. He was selfish, he was sick.
“Why don’t we start getting together more often?” Jason asked, it was more of an idea than a question but it came out in the form of a question. He really didn’t care how often he saw Jewels; it didn’t matter much to him. He didn’t have to see her often because at this point she was just his drug dealer, and someone he could sleep with. She could be thrown out of his life as quickly as he needed her to be.

Nobody stayed in her life long enough for her to get attached to; except Jason. Jason was always her exception. Most of the calls she got she said no to -only because they phoned at three in the morning- unless it was Jason. "Never say no to Jason." Fuck, it could be her bloody motto. If Jason wanted drugs, she was there.. If Jason needed help with anything -like he'd ever ask though- she'd be there. If Jason wanted to fuck, she was definitely there. God damn you. Jewels scolded him in her head and it made her feel slightly lighter on her feet.
Jewels led the way to the back door of Wild Bills. She ignored all the stares, she was used to them by now. Maybe they thought she was a prostitute; who cared? She didn't. It be better for everyone if they thought that anyways, considering the truth. Nobody really stuck around in Jewels' life too long, the heat was ridiculous. Everyone was paranoid around her, especially if they came back a second or third time. But not Jason. No, never Jason. Well, it seemed to her anyways. Maybe Jason was always paranoid and she'd just never noticed it.
Her amber eyes flashed to him briefly and she smiled at his offer, or was it a question? She never really was too sure. "We've made many plans before, Jason." She shrugged slowly and pushed on the exit door in front of her now. "You've always bitched out.. Unless you know you're gunna get something or another." She raised a brow at him as she turned to face him, a playful yet resentful smirk playing on her lips. Outside it was cool, standing only in a mini dress and heels was not the smartest of things. Jewels was very prone to catching colds.
The red head looked up, though unsure why, there was no way she'd be able to see the stars and she knew it. The smog over the city had blocked her view of space for as long as she'd been there. Jewels wasn't even sure if she remembered what they looked like anymore. A small sigh escaped her and she'd hoped it was quiet enough that he didn't hear her. "How much?" She said, without taking her eyes off the starless sky.
Just say it. She screamed at herself. Jason, we need to talk... not so hard you dumb broad. Jewels blinked silently, waiting. Fucking say it. But she didn't. She couldn't.

Had it been possible for him to stop everything all together, he would have tried harder then he was now. Had it been possible for him to even get sober, Jason could have been sober for two years. However, because everything had failed sobriety wasn’t ever going to happen for Jason Levito. At least that was what he thought; it was all he honestly believed. He could pretend for the sake of his daughter that he was doing alright, he could pay off the courts when he failed drug tests, but if he were to get busted… he could do nothing to step them from taking away the only thing that had meaning in his life. Jason Levito played one of the most dangerous games a man could play, and he played it well.
“I’ll follow through this time.” The raven haired man declared his lips curled into a wicked smile. His smile was sick, but when it was paired up with Jason it was a perfect match. It was a smile that could only belong to someone like Jason Levito. Jason looked at Jewels when she tilted her head to the sky, noticing the way that her body showed that the cool air, although it felt nice, was possibly too cool for what Jewels was wearing. “You’re cold.” Jason murmured taking a few steps closer to Jewels, his arms coming around her waist. He left barely any space between their bodies.
“Lets talk about that later.” The singer spoke softly, he knew Jewels enough to know that she was prone to catching colds and sure him holder her didn’t help at all… but he enjoyed it at least. He turned his head to the sky and sighed. In the town he grew up in back in England the sky looked so beautiful that it was next to unbelievable to him. The way the stars weren’t at all visible at that very moment made Jason suddenly miss England more than he had in years. [/size]

Jewels always melted when Jason smiled. No matter how he smiled, it was as if he was a wizard and that was his magic. She hated it, but she loved it at the same time. It wasn't as if she could help it. Jason Levito was gorgeous, basically twenty four seven. She especially loved it when he was sleeping. Jewels sighed again at the thought of the last time they'd been together. Not to long ago, really. A few months at the most.
She missed the days when he'd call her at least twice a week; even though she was technically his booty call with hookups. Jewels never minded, it was Jason after all and she'd probably die for him if the time came. Maybe then he'd notice how she really felt, if she were to do something that drastic but she doubted it. Jason always seemed oblivious to how she felt about him.
Whether he noticed or not, she could never tell. He was always sending her scrambled signals of his own and she'd hoped that her's were at least a little clearer. They'd never get to be together, she already knew, he was Jason. He had a daughter. And he was Jason. But Jewels could never bring herself to stop trying. "You're cold" She smiled and laughed softly.
"Nothing gets past you, eh?" Jewels replied and sank into him. He wasn't warm, but he smelt like Jason; her favourite smell in the world. He smelt better than vanilla and lilacs to Jewels almost so much it sickened even her but she couldn't help it. She finally gave up on the sky and rested her head on his shoulder slightly. As she breathed she took a bit of him in each time. And each time was better than the last. Jewels wanted to stay there forever, but she couldn't.

He rubbed her arms softly, hoping to warm her body up because he really wasn’t much warmer than she was. But he didn’t really care that much, it never bothered him to be cold. He loved the cold more than anything. He liked holding her, or maybe he just liked holding a woman. The latter was the more likely; because he didn’t really think much of Jewels other than she was his friend and a dealer too. It was just a great benefit of their friendship.
Sex used to be apart if their friendship too but lately it hadn’t been that way. It wasn’t exactly like he couldn’t stand not having sex with her, it was just different but it didn’t matter did it? It usually didn’t make any difference. “I miss you, Jewels.” The singer said his voice barely a whisper. He looked at her and took a step back, a small toothless smile on his lips for just a few moments before he was back to normal all over again. He didn’t even think about it before he pressed his lips to hers, holding his hand under her chin to lift her head.
He didn’t think about anything before he did it because Jason Levito lived off of impulse, he didn’t know anything more than that. Had he thought before he did any of the things he did Jason probably wouldn’t have gotten married, he wouldn’t have ended up with a kid completely in love with said kid and he definitely wouldn’t have ended up divorced. Chances are that Jason probably wouldn’t have ended up a junkie either had he thought about things before doing them.

The friction from Jason's hands rubbing her arms had little, to no affect at all. Jewels still wasn't complaining though. It meant she could stay close to him for longer; and that was an excellent plan to her. She sighed again and breathed in a deep breath of fresh Jason. His smell was intoxicating and he didn't even know. Jewels had planned to tell him how she felt a long time ago but it never worked to her advantage. Either he was too fucked to even be listening or he just wouldn't pay attention.
The female could never be too sure when it came to Jason, she never really figured out why he never let her say anything she needed to. Maybe he knew and didn't want to have to let her down. But that didn't make sense. If he honestly cared about hurting her, he wouldn't keep stringing her along and after so long too.
I miss you, Jewels. The female sighed as he moved away, though it wasn't a very big gap between them now. Jewels frowned and looked at the ground for a few moments. Why must he always say that? Jewels questioned herself. She looked up again and tried to read his face she couldn't see much of anything. "You already said th-" Her sentence was stopped by Jason's lips and it only took half a second for her to respond to the kiss.

The kiss was short lived because soon after their lips touched, Jason realized that he shouldn’t be doing that. It took him a few seconds longer than it should have for him to stop kissing her though, and when he did he stepped back away from her putting space in between them. He ran a hand though his hair and sighed, licking his lips quickly. “Sorry.” Jason murmured to her, he looked back to the sky and then after a few moments back to Jewels. “You know, never mind about the coke. I-uh, I’ve got some back at the house, it’ll last me a few more days.” That wasn’t true; he didn’t have enough for more than a few hours. He’d have to go with one of his many other dealers because he’d gone and made this weird.
He pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and looked at the time, wanting to think of something to get him out of there. He was ridiculous, and he knew it. “I should get out of here, you know curfew and shit…” He was referring to the parole that he was still on and would still be on for the next three years of his life. Of course twenty five year old men usually didn’t have curfews; just the ones who fucked up a lot were given curfews sometimes. Jason barely ever obeyed his and because he was rich he got away with it, and Jewels probably knew that. She probably also knew that Jason was just trying to get away from her at this point.

Jewels' eyes had closed during the short kiss. They stayed shut as he pulled away and she dropped her head. She hated when he did that. It kept getting more frequent, like he was always trying to get away.. Jewels wanted him to stay, of course, but she knew he wouldn't. Not now. Sorry. She sighed when he said that word, like he was doing something he shouldn't have. Jewels didn't understand how he could be trying to avoid something that just seemed right.. to her at least.
A hand came slowly to her face and she wiped at her mouth in spite herself before looking up to him again. He was making excuses, she knew it. But she couldn't stop him from leaving, Jewels did not own him. Nor, she'd bet anything, did he want to be hers. Jewels knew he was going to call another dealer as soon as he was out of range of her ears. The red head rolled her amber eyes and shifted her weight from her right side to her left. Her arms came around herself again and she sighed. "Fine. Whatever, Jason. Peace." Jewels shook her head slightly then she turned on her heel and started to head up out of the alley. There was no reason to be out anymore. She figured she could just go home, sleep for once; she knew it wouldn't happen.
