Emelia didn’t think that it was fair that growing up meant learning to say good bye and to allow people to go away without her going with them. She also didn’t think that it was fair that her boyfriend wanted to go away for college; it broke her heart because she couldn’t imagine not being with him every day. She didn’t even want to think about what it would be like to have a long distance relationship. She couldn’t afford to go to college away from Encore, so she had no choice but to stay and go to the crummy. Okay so Encore University isn’t really all that crummy, but still it was only Encore it wasn’t good without Sebastian going there too.
Of course she wanted Sebastian to follow his dreams and where they would take him, she just didn’t like having to be hours away from him. While Sebastian was going to go to The Columbia Art School in Chicago, she was going to stay here in Encore City where she had been her entire life. She couldn’t detest the fact that growing up was going to take people away from her. Even if she knew they were going to be back and she would have them for the rest of her life anyway, she didn’t like the temporary separation.
Emelia sat on the bar stool, leaning on the granite countertop bar her fingers twisting the ends of her long brunette hair. She looked at Sebastian and began to feel more resentful to him leaving in the first place. Graduation was only a few weeks away and after that they had two months together before he was going to be gone. Thoughts flooded her head about all the things that could happen there. What if he met someone he wanted more than her? What if he didn’t want to be tied down when he went away to college, after all it was a whole new place hours away from his life here. Why would he want to have his hometown girlfriend tying him down?
She was paranoid and making herself worse about it by thinking these thoughts. Of course Sebastian wouldn’t do that. They were in love; they were going to get married one day. One of these days she knew he would say those three beautiful words to her. She knew he already did love her, she knew that, but she wanted to hear him say it. She wanted him to vocalize that he loved her just so she had that memory to hold on when she worried about him finding another girl, a better girl, a girl from Chicago or where ever the hell she may be from.
“I can’t believe graduation is so close.” Eme mumbled looking over to Seb, she sighed and pushed her hair behind her ears. “It’s so scary; we’re going to be adults. We’re going to be out of high school…” She couldn’t believe that that was a reality that they would be faced with in just a few short weeks. She couldn’t believe how fast high school went by. “You’re going to go away to college and it’s just…crazy.” Her voice trailed off as she went back to toying with and twirling her hair. All those stupid thoughts of what could happen came flooding in again and Eme felt the burn of tears start coming in strongly, she tried to hide that from Seb and hoped that if and when he noticed that he wouldn’t say anything about it.

He nodded in agreement as he spoke. "Seems like yesterday when we were in ninth grade just talking about shit and now.. well.. we're here." Seb held up his hands, motioning to Eme and then himself. What she said next almost killed him it hurt so much. Sebastian knew the college thing was going to be hard on his love, just as it was to be hard on him as well. Moving away from everything you know is always a hard thing to do, especially leaving the things you love behind. Sebastian wanted nothing more than to bring her with him, but he knew she couldn't. That wouldn't stop him from trying though. A small sigh escaped his lips and his eyes softened considerably from the already glazed over look he carried around her. She was his angel, and his shinning star; everything he ever dreamed of in a female. Emelia was perfect for him. "You know.." Sebastian began, turning his knees toward her as he sat on the stood beside her. He grabbed the one hand not playing with her hair and pulled it into his gently. "You could always come with me.." Seb kissed the back of her hand and closed his eyes for a moment. "I started saving for my tuition in like grade five so I have enough to get you in." He grinned of the thought of them both at The Columbia Art School. "They have dance classes, you know." He'd used the argument many times before but he was sure she'd have to cave eventually. He could only hope.[/ul]

Of course she had wanted to take up on his offer, she had thought about it so many times. She could get her Bachelor’s degree in dance at a great school but she couldn’t go with him. She couldn’t ask to use the money he had saved up for himself on her, even if he didn’t need it he could put it to use some other time later on. Her eyes landed on his face and she sighed, looking away from him for a second. “I couldn’t do that.” Eme said softly. “You’re going to need that money one day.” She said to him, wondering if it wasn’t him that would need the money but if it would be they, them, the two of them together, that would need that money.
“I remember in ninth grade when we sat by each other in biology.” Eme started looking back up to Sebastian, noticing the things she remembered from then and looking at him now, four years later. “We used to always make fun of Mr. Henderson.” A smile caught her lips as she remembered their old biology teacher. He was in his early fifties and had a heavy, heavy southern accent and his hair was constantly set up in a cowlick. It was probably one of the funniest things she’d seen on a teacher. “It doesn’t feel like it’s been close to four years since then…” With the hand that Seb was holding she moved it to lace their fingers. “It feels like yesterday that I fell in love with you…” Tell me you love me… tell me you love me. You have to love me.
She didn’t want to go another day without him saying it out loud, was it that much to ask for? Two and a half years almost and he never said he loved her, not vocally, of course she knew. She had to have known after this long that he loved her, he knew she loved him. She told him that, why was it so hard to tell her? Why couldn’t he tell her? “I can’t go to Columbia, as much as I want to.” Eme stated, a reassuring smile coming across her lips, almost like she wasn’t only trying to reassure him but herself too. “Besides it’s only four years, these four went by so fast. And I can probably save more money and move up there with you if you ever live off campus…”

Sebastian said stubbornly as he kissed the back of her hand again. "You don't have to..." He sighed silently and looked at the counter top. "I don't want to force you, love, but I do want you there with me." The male didn't look up to her at first. When he did he was amazed, just like every other time he'd ever looked at her. "I'll tell you what," He began, a smirk coming across his face; as each second passed it grew slightly. "Either you take it as tuition..." Sebastian paused; he needed a little time to put his thoughts into words. "Or you can take it in ring form.." He said the last bit a little quieter, but he was looking straight at her, still smiling. "Totally up to you." He didn't bother to mention he could pay for a beautiful engagement ring as well as her four years of college. Sebastian couldn't push her, because he loved her. He needed to give her space when it seemed she needed it and, obviously, he needed to hold her when she was hurt. Everything had happened so fast, she was right about that. It was so much easier when they were kids in Biology. Sebastian wanted to tell her that he loved her. He'd always had, and he hope she knew. The reason he couldn't say those three little words was because; one, he didn't want to scare her away even though she'd said it on numerous occasions, two, because the words were usually thrown around like cake at a cake walk. They held no real meaning to anybody anymore, so he simply stated, in the best words he could find; You are my life, and my soul. Wasn't that good enough, hell wasn't that better? It's more than three words. He chuckled slightly in his head. "And those four years only went fast because you were around." He was getting surly now. He really wanted her to be there, but he'd planned to stick to his plan to let her decide. "Move with me, right away. I've wanted to live off campus since I got the letter. There's too many rules living on campus anyways. That way we could be together, and we wouldn't have to wait." Sebastian's eyes pleaded, he really wanted her there with a ring showing their commitment to each other on her finger beside her pinky. He'd often dreamt about how things would work out; for the most part all was good.[/ul]

With every fiber in her being Emelia wanted to say that yes, she would take his offer and allow him to pay her tuition. She wanted to say yes to that offer, but she couldn’t. She couldn’t allow him to do that because that was his money, not her money and no their money. She didn’t want to rob him of his money. The idea of it sounded wonderful, she loved that they could have the chance at going to the same college and she could study dance. It would be nice, if she did that the day that she would open her own dance studio would be helped by her bachelor’s degree. And of course her soon-to-be dance career would benefit from it too.
Then he said it, he said in the form of a ring, and one million different thoughts spiraled through her head. She was so excited by the idea that it was hard to express it, she was so shocked and even slightly confused. Of course she wanted that, she wanted to take the money in the form of a ring. An engagement ring, she never thought she’d hear the offer/proposal this way but it didn’t matter because it only mattered about the guy who was asking her. Her eyes were wide and her mouth slightly ajar in shock, she looked at Sebastian looking for it to be a joke or anything.
She knew him too well to know that he wouldn’t ever joke about that. And suddenly she started to nod, and a huge smile broke out on her lips. Okay…yeah, I can do that.” The words flew out of her mouth like wildfire and that didn’t bother her. She leaned forward and kissed Sebastian for what could have been a thousand times, she held his cheek in her palm and smiled to him. When he mentioned her moving with him, she didn’t even think about anything else, she wanted to move with him right away.
“I have some money that I can use so you don’t have to pay for everything. It could be the start of our life, Seb!” She wanted to just go shout out to the whole world that she and Sebastian were going to get married. She wanted to tell all of her friends, she wanted to have the ring on so she could adore it and she wanted to just marry him. They could elope and that would be all she needed, she had dreamed of a pretty wedding but now the only thing that mattered was the man she was marrying. People would probably say they were too young, after all she wasn’t turning 18 for another month and he was only 18, they were young sure, but people got married even younger.
People got married for things like a girl getting pregnant, or just for sex, but not Eme and Seb. No they were going to get married because they loved each other and they wanted to be with each other forever. Did it matter if they were so young? No Eme didn’t think so because she didn’t see why they should wait if they knew that they were going to be together in the end anyway.

He damn near jumped off the stool and grabbed her around the waist, holding her against his chest; though not enough to squish her. "You're amazing." He mumbled slightly as he set her on her feet and brought his face to hers. Sebastian could see it now. Everything in their future was shown to him, as if on film. A white picket fence surrounding a white house. Tire swing hanging from the oak tree in the front yard with a porch swing on the front deck. He'd come home from work, or somewhere, and Eme and his' little rascals would come running out for hugs.... It was all very cliche, but he didn't care one bit. To know that his future included her was good enough for him. Sebastian broke the kiss and his face hovered inches from hers as he stared into her eyes; smiling from head to toe.[/ul]

Eme’s smile widened as his arms wrapped around her waist and she put hers around his neck. She wanted to be with him forever, and this was just more reassurance that they would be. She wanted to love him like her parents loved each other. She wanted to have that happy dream with him, and she knew that as long as she had Sebastian, she would have that dream. As Sebastian put her on her feet she stood on her tip toes to kiss him. Smiling all the while, she couldn’t stop smiling at this point.
She saw the dream wedding they could have; she saw the beautiful life they would have together, with their children and their beautiful house. She saw him painting beautiful things, she saw her dance studio… she saw a beautiful life and it was something she wanted immediately. “I love you so much.” Emelia whispered looking at her fiancé, looking into those beautiful eyes of his. She wanted to capture this moment and hold it forever; she wanted to enclose it in her heart so that when she wanted to relive it again on a bad day she could. This was by far the happiest day of her life so far.
“We’re going to have it all some day.” The girl said, kissing Sebastian again. She couldn’t wait to live with him; it would be them all the time no one to hold them back. No one to tell them what to do or when they couldn’t see each other, she looked forward to sleeping in the same bed with him every night, something she had barely been able to do. She couldn’t wait to sleep in his arms. Everything about living with him was more and more exciting with every second closer they came to it.

If it was possible, Sebastian's grin grew more and more as he watched his fiance. Eme was his fiance. He still couldn't believe it, it was his dream come true. Sebastian was going to make Eme Tanner into Eme Rowyn. That sounded excellent to him. The name rolled out of his mind so easily he didn't even know what to do with it. "I love you so much." Eme had said, every time he heard those words everything was better. No matter if his parents had died and she said them, he'd feel better. Even though it didn't seem possible at all, they made things better just then.
"I'm never letting you go." Sebastian grinned still and tightened his arms around her waist. He pulled her closer to him -as if he could. "Of course we are." He agreed and kissed his soon-to-be-wife. Everything was perfect. "Why don't we start now. Go get your ring." He kissed her lips quickly and continued. "It's not totally official yet, and we need it official." Sebastian chuckled and stepped away slowly, still keeping an arm wrapped around her waist. "So what do you say, babe?"

Eme didn’t ever want Sebastian to let her go, because she was the most comfortable in his arms. She felt the safest when she was with him. Sebastian and she could have been living on the streets and as long as she had him, she would be the happiest woman in this green earth. She kissed him when he kissed her and it was one of those heart melting kisses, when their lips separated her head stayed tilted up to look at him. Her husband-to-be, she loved that, it was the most amazing thing she’d ever heard.
After Sebastian suggested they go and buy her ring she couldn’t help but let an excited laugh roll from her throat. She nodded and couldn’t stop smiling; the idea of being engaged to Sebastian had her completely thrilled. “Let’s make it official then.” She said still smiling; it was like she couldn’t stop smiling. “And then I can show the girls my ring and then I’ll get to introduce you as my fiancé everywhere we go.” She was like a kid in a candy store, she hadn’t been so happy in her life.
occ ;; is short, i'm sorry!

It was Seb's turn to let an excited laugh escape his lips. "I can live with that." The male pulled her into another hug quickly then planted a soft kiss on her forehead. "Shall we?"The male manouvered his fiance with his arm around her waist towards the front door. He was so excited that he had to stop himself from picking her up and running with her all the way to the jewelery store. He had to be normal, he shouldn't have been that excited right? He supposed it was a little bit much, but who wouldn't be excited when they were going to marry the person of their dreams. When they got down to his truck, he opened the passenger door for his fiance and went around to the driver's side after closing the door for her. "So, where to, babe?" He flashed a large smile as his engine rumbled to life. He waited for his fiance to choose the jewelery vender, "I don't care which one, I just want to get something on that finger of yours." He joked, though only slightly. There was a truth behind it. But he wanted her to have the perfect ring.[/ul]

It was happening so fast, but so perfectly. Who said that she wanted him to propose all romantically? This was more romantic than anything to her, because it was in a way his telling her that he couldn’t stand to ever live without her. He wanted her to be with him wherever he was, and of course, she wanted to be wherever he was. That was obvious; she never wanted to be away from him, not as long as she could have control over that. Even if she couldn’t control it, she’d want to be with him, all the time… forever. “I really don’t know any jewelry stores.” Eme confessed, laughing kind of nervously. She wasn’t the greatest girl huh; she knew nothing about jewelry stores.
“There’s that place in the mall… lets go there, it doesn’t matter where I get a ring. It doesn’t matter what it looks like. All that matters is that it means I’m yours, or that I am going to be.” She was smiling wide and happily by the end of her statement. She wanted nothing more than to have a ring on her finger just to show that she belonged to someone. She belonged to someone named Sebastian Rowyn. She was the future Mrs. Sebastian Rowyn, and that was all she wanted people to think when they saw her ring. Not that it was perfect or beautiful, just for them to know she belonged to someone…
ooc// omg I am so sorry at how badly this sucks… how about we skip to after they come back from buying the ring?

TIME SKIP
Sebastian parked the truck outside of his parent's house. It hadn't taken long for Eme to pick out a ring. He could've sworn she was looking for the cheapest and the smallest thing in the jewelers. It didn't matter though. He was just happy she found something to show people she was taken, for good. Sebastian looked to her, sitting beside him on the bench seat and he offered her a smile. "Well, that was fun." He said, genuinely happy about the situation.
He'd made the jeweler put the ring in a box instead of on her finger. He wanted to do things properly. Sebastian wanted the proposal memory to be brilliant, and not him asking her if she'd take his money in a ring instead of tuition. Sebastian was going to make it perfect for the both of them. He had to. Being a perfectionist does that to a person. "C'mon."
Sebastian grinned and hopped out of the truck. He raced himself to the passenger side door to open it for Eme, his fiance. The male took her hand and lead her up the walk to the house. Letting himself in, he held the door for Eme and waited until she was inside. "Now, I would do this some place else..." He paused and ran a hand through his hair as they made their way into the living room. It was very obvious he was nervous, more nervous than the first time he'd ever asked her out. "This is the best I can do, right now." He laughed slightly and ran another hand through his spiked hair.
"I have to do it properly." He let a nervous laugh escape him before he pulled himself together. Sebastian stood in front of her for a moment until he deemed himself ready to kneel on one knee. "Emelia, I want to be with you for the rest of my life.." A grin spread. "Will you be my bride?" Of course he knew the answer already, but he was allowed to be nervous. Getting engaged was definitely a big thing.

Sebastian was right; Eme was looking for the cheapest smallest thing she could find. She didn’t want Sebastian to have to pay a lot of money; she wanted something simple to show everyone that she was his. She didn’t need some huge sparkly rock. She just needed the fact that the man that the ring promised her to was Mister Sebastian Rowyn, her husband-to-be. She had been a little unhappy about not having the ring immediately but she thought that maybe Seb was going to try to do things the way they were ‘supposed’ to be done. She didn’t care, that would just be an additive.
The whole car ride back she was smiling to herself and she would look at Sebastian and smile, thinking about the future they were going to have. She followed him into the house and smiled a little more when he said he wished he’d been able to do this somewhere else. It didn’t matter, she was his already. She always had been.
When he kneeled she couldn’t fight the tears that instinctively came to her eyes. She was like the classic girl in love; she came so close to crying from happiness when she saw him kneeling there. She nodded furiously and then said. “Yes!” She didn’t wait for him to stand up instead she lunged at him, knocking him onto his back where she lay on top of him and kissed him. “I want to be with you until the day I die, Sebastian Alexander Rowyn.” She ran her fingers through his hair and kissed him again. “If I could I’d be your bride a thousand times over and over and over again.”

Sebastian let himself go when Eme threw herself onto him. A large smile formed on his lips through the kiss she planted on him. The male was sure he'd hit his head on the way down but he didn't care. The box with the ring -still open- had been thrown from his hand and landed somewhere across the room. "Good." Seb smiled still, his hands rested on her waist.
Being with Eme seemed natural, almost as if he didn't have to worry about anything. Unlike when she was away from him, but that wasn't an issue now. Sebastian could have her with him at any time he wanted now. "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.." There was nothing else he could say. Except maybe I love you, but he didn't believe in those words. They weren't enough. Not for him, at least, they couldn't possibly describe how he felt for her. No words could.
Sebastian heard a throat clear itself and he looked up from the hardwood floor to see his parents staring down at the two. They were both smiling and that set him off again. The grin on Sebastian's face grew a few inches -if that was possible- as he watched them. His mother bent down and picked up the box with the ring. She squeeled and showed her husband. "Baby!! Oooh." Seb knew his mother wanted him to marry Eme, she simply loved the girl to pieces. "Yeah, mom, we're going to get married." Seb said from the floor, Eme still on top of him.

She wanted him to say it, right then; she wanted to hear it come out of his mouth. Three words, was it that hard to ask for? She kissed his neck softly and smiled at him. “We’ll be old and fat together, it’ll rock!” She said a laugh rumbling in along with her voice. She wished he would say it, and she didn’t understand why he couldn’t say I love you. He had to love her… because he wanted to marry her… didn’t that mean he loved her? Why couldn’t he say it? Why wouldn’t Sebastian spit the three words out?
She had laid her head on Sebastian’s chest and she looked at his parents as they came into the room. And as the excitement seemed to escalate in Sebastian it escalated in her too. She loved his mother and couldn’t be more thrilled that she would be her mother-in-law. It was something she couldn’t be more excited for. She smiled at them and nodded at what Sebastian had said. She rolled to his side and sat up to talk to them. “We’re really getting married!” Her smile mirrored that of Sebastian’s, though not quite as wide. “I’m going to be your daughter, Mrs. Rowyn!”
