This was the worst thing that could've happened, minus somebody being killed. It was something that Jewels should've stayed away from. It was the last thing she needed, ever. There was no doubt that she'd get nailed for trafficing and god knows what else. And the best part of it all she didn't even have a lawyer. "Fuck!" She mumbled to herself. "Should've been more careful." Jewels shook her head, she hated herself very much at that moment. Jewels had usually always been careful, at least it'd be her first offense.
That wasn't the bad part though, Jason was there.. with no drugs to keep him high. As soon as he would start to come down all hell would break loose. Jewels knew from experience. And not good experiences either. The female sighed and stood up. She began pacing, clearly agitated. Of course she had good reason; but Jason on the other hand was basically fucked. She felt sorry for him, in a way, because she knew he wouldn't be able to pay his way out of this one. He was still on parole.
Madden had only been with them in the holding cell for about twenty minutes before his lawyer was there and he was being let out. The male gave the three left sitting in the cell an apologetic glance as he left. They all knew he couldn't do anything about their situation so they didn't bother by hating him for leaving. Jewels' pacing grew more rapid and soon she simply crashed. Landing in a stone corner she simply brought her knees to her chin and closed her eyes. "Fuck," She said again, though louder this time. Her eyes opened again and looked from Cammie to Jason.

It was happening all over again, the squad car, the shoving the pushing and the overall cops just being assholes. What else were they supposed to be, friendly? If they were friendly then everyone wouldn’t mind the whole being arrested thing. This was all too familiar to him, and when they put the four of them in the holding cell, Jason sat quietly. It didn’t take very long between the cold air outside hitting him and the ride there before he was starting to sober up, and he was starting to crash fast. The singer sat silently for what felt like a life time as everything started to hit him, and it hit him harder then he could have thought possible. He was so stupid, how could he have let this happen to himself?
How could he have put himself in this situation? It was done; he was going to lose the only thing that mattered to him. They were going to take Amber away from him; they were going to take his parental rights away so quickly he wouldn’t even know what hit him. When Jewels spoke Jason looked up at her, still silent, he hadn’t said a word since they cuffed him. Not even any of his usual smart ass remarks. He was completely silent, he was for lack of a better explanation, mortified and terrified. No, not about being in jail, that wasn’t what he cared about really. Well he did to a point because if he wasn’t here he wouldn’t be facing the reality that within a month, his daughter would be taken away from him. He couldn’t live without her, it wasn’t possible. She was the only thing that kept him alive these days. She was the only thing he saw worth living for.
“Stop it Jewels.” Jason mumbled to her, cold eyes landing on her. His eyes were a paler color then they were before due to all the toxins, they were icier and colder then before as well. “Even if you were careful it wouldn’t have mattered.” He was right and he knew that Jewels would know that too. She could have been the most careful person in the world and that wouldn’t have stopped the cops showing up. If it was anyone’s fault, it was his fault. He was an idiot that invited anyone who had access to his fucking face book. The man rubbed his eyes with his hands and sighed, shaking his head. “This is it.” Jason murmured looking to Jewels, as if just looking at her would comfort him. He didn’t want look at Cammie just because his pride wouldn’t allow him to.
“They’re going to take her away from me, Jewels.” It didn’t matter if he wasn’t fit to be a father and he knew it. Amber was everything that made his life worth living, even if he only got to be with her a total of one week a month. “I can’t live without her… she’s the only thing that gets me up in the morning…”

Jail. Again. Cammie had been in holding cells many times before, but Daddy had always been there to pay her way out of it, much in the same way Madden had gotten out of it. But this time, there was no Daddy's Money. She didn't even bother calling him. She was twenty two years old now. He wouldn't help her out. Not this time. He'd pay for her lawyer, should she need one, but he would make her learn her lesson, as if that were even possible. God, she hated this. She watched Jewels pace, not wanting to look at Jason. He'd been an ass all night, and she didn't want anything to do with him now, not even to use him for her little game of winning Madden over. She kept her eyes firmly planted on Jewels. She wanted to say some comforting words to her friend, but she couldn't think of anything. They would probably come down hardest on Jewels, for possession and trafficing. "It's your first offense, right Jewels?" she asked, never remembering any other time she'd heard about Jewels in jail. "Give them some sob story..maybe they'll go easier on you..."
And then, Jason started breaking down. That was too much. As rude as he'd been, he was probably taking everything the hardest. She'd talked to Jewels a few times about Jason, and knew enough to know that Amber was his daughter. And even if she hadn't, she'd have figured it out by the words he'd used. She got up from where she sat in a corner of the cell and sat next to Jason, willing herself to comfort him. She hesitated for a few seconds before placing a friendly hand on his arm. She doubted there were any words at all to make up for losing your parental rights, other than 'I'm sorry,' and Jason didn't seem like the kind of man who'd accept a weak apology for what would be happening to him and his daughter.

The reality of it all hit Jewels so fast she didn't even know what it was at first. She had been somewhat entirely focused on what would happen to her -which could be to a slap on the wrist compared to what Jason would have to go through. Jewels felt horrible, no she felt like complete shit. No ifs ands or buts about it. She should've been paying attention like a good friend would and notice that his situation was worse.
In one swift motion Jewels was up off the floor in the corner and moving to Jason's side. She sat down half as gracefully and slipped her arms around him. Jewels knew how much Amber meant to him. "Oh babe, I'm sorry." She whispered to him. "I should've realized sooner.. I-I forgot.. I was caught up in my petty ass problem.." She shook her head, clearly not happy with herself. "I can help you, you know I can. Just let me."

His hair covered his eyes as he leaned his head down, looking at his lap. He didn’t know what else to do; he was a mess in his head and probably looking like quite a mess on the outside too. He looked at the hand that touched his arm and realized it was Cammie; he didn’t even shrug it off or anything. But the fact that her hand seemed to land in the most imperfect spot made everything worse he hand had been right by a tattoo of Amber’s name. “Stop it.” Jason growled to Jewels, shaking his head as she apologized to him. That was the last thing he wanted to hear. Well, he thought it was until she said that she wanted to help him if he would let her.
He stood up abruptly and crossed the holding cell shaking his head. “Help me? Are you fucking kidding, Jewels?” Jason snapped, looking at her and shaking his head. “What can you do? What can you do!?” He didn’t know what to do with himself; he didn’t know what to say or how to act. He was just completely broken. “You can’t change this, you can’t make it go away. Fuck, Jewels I can’t make this go away. I’d give up everything; I’d give them every last fucking cent I had if I could just have her. I would do anything for them to not take her away!” He didn’t know why he was yelling at her, there was no reason to but he couldn’t control it. He turned to the wall and crossed his arms, holding onto himself trying to calm himself. Before he even registered the though he hit the wall hard and he didn’t even care how badly it hurt him because it was nothing compared to what he was feeling inside.
“I did this, Jewels. Because I couldn’t sober up, because I thought I had everything…” He pressed his body closer to the wall and held the hand he hit the wall with with his other hand. “I can’t stop Jewels, no matter how badly I want to… I can’t stop…” He was pathetic, he was crashing and it finally hit him that he wasn’t in control. He thought he was in control all along but now he came to realize he never had any control. “You can’t do anything, Jewels. I fucked up, and now she’s gunna be…” He couldn’t even say it, he slid down the wall and sat on the ground, hanging his head in shame and pain.

Jewels didn't have anything to say for a long moment. There was nothing she could possibly say to make Jason calm down. Nothing she could do either. She let Jason move away from herself and Cammie though stood a few moments after. Jewels didn't approach him fully, though did take a few steps toward him. He needed to hear her, needed to calm down because she knew if he let her help him that everything would work out.
"What I can do is get you off, hon." Her voice was a little hoarse, seeing Jason like this always messed her up. She was almost starting to worry about crying, she couldn't. Jason needed her to be strong. "I wont sell to you anymore..." Jewels chewed on her lip for a second or two. "I could watch after you, take care of you.. Help you through it. And I could use a break from the business anyways.." She stated it as if it was a simple fact. "I wouldn't admit you, you know that. But I would be with you every step of the way through our own version of detoxing."
Jewels should have shut up before she even started, but she didn't. She continued without pausing. "I could testify for you in court..." She failed to see the obvious logic of her being Jason's drug dealer -who just got busted- and would not be taken seriously at all if (a big if) they actually let her in the court room. "I want you to keep Amber, Jason. I'm willing to do anything it takes.." Jewels paused, chewed on her lip for a moment. A sharp intake of breath came and she said it.
"I love you."

Cammie leaned back against the wall, watching the scene take place. They were all stuck in the same place, but with such different scenarios. Cammie would get off with nothing other than a night in jail on her record, probably. Jewels was getting stuck with trafficing, at least, and Jason was worse off, out of all three of them. He was losing his daughter. She wondered what she would have done if she'd lost her parents for some reason, especially for a reason like Jason and Amber would have to go through. It was awful.
She watched Jason really break down. It was much worse than she thought it would be. And, in a morbidly twisted way, it was almost nice to see. It showed that Jason wasn't the asshole he'd presented himself as tonight. She wanted to reach out, put her hand on him once more, maybe even hug him. She wished she knew some words of comfort that would calm him down. But Jewels had the situation under control...well, not really. But she was trying. And Cammie knew she would be no help here. So, instead, she just watched. There wasn't much else she could do.
And then, Jewels said she loved Jason. "Whoa," she mumbled. She totally didn't see that one coming. Now, she felt even more out of place than she had only seconds ago. She almost wanted to ask a cop for a different cell, as if she had that option. This was a conversation for the two of them. She hated being a fly on the wall.

Every word that she had said Jason did not want to hear. His icy eyes narrowed on her and his voice was like a sharp knife. “I’m not a goddamn child, Jewels! I don’t need you to hold my fucking hand, even if I get sober now they’re going to take her away!” He felt like she was trying to be a mother to him, and he hated that. He hated his own mother enough, why would he want her to step in and be his care-taker? It would pretty much be like rehab just in his own house, which would just make things even worse. “No matter what I do, they’re going to take her away, and if I ever get to see her again it’ll be with supervision; because I’m an unfit father, because I’m threatening her well being...” He hated admitting those things but he knew very well how true they were, they had to be true if the government insisted it had been that way for two years now.
Then she said it, it came out of no where and it was something that Jason didn’t want to hear. Especially paired up with her telling him that she wouldn’t sell to him anymore, what she said at the end was the worst thing she could have ever said to him. “Why did you say that Jewels? Why the fuck would you say that?!” He stared her dead in the eye, shaking his head. “You don’t love me, you don’t fucking love me Jewels… you can’t…” He wanted to yell at her, he wanted to remind what loving him did to people, he hurt people, he made everyone worse then they ever started. He wanted to remind Jewels what happened with Casey and how they turned out…
“I don’t care about you, Jewels.”
His voice was sharp and calm and his eyes stayed locked on hers. He said the words without hesitation and the way he looked at her made it look like that was completely true. He cared about her, to a point; she was his friend well kind of. If she wouldn’t sell to him then she was nothing to him, she was a dealer and someone who he could get sex from easily, nothing more. He stood up and walked away from Jewels, looking away from both the women in the holding cell, wishing he were anywhere else. He knew he’d just hurt Jewels, and he didn’t care how much he was going to hurt her after this, he couldn’t care.

Jewels hadn't raised her voice once, actually it was the opposite. She basically spoke in a whisper the whole time she'd been talking to Jason. Jewels figured that it would help calm nerves, and not just his. The red head was still on edge, though not even paying attention to her own issues. She loved Jason and she wanted to help him as much as she could. She'd known at the very start that she shouldn't have said anything, but she was stupid enough to go along with it.
"I know you're not a child, but it would work Jason." She sighed. "Trust me. Please." That's all she wanted him to ever do, trust her. She'd thought that if he ever trusted her he'd see what was happening to her when he came around and that maybe he'd care. Jewels hung her head, she was out of things to say. There was nothing else she could say. Telling Jason Levito that she loved him, though not now much, took a gigantic weight off her shoulders. That weight returned almost instantaneously as he said words she didn't understand at first.
“I don’t care about you, Jewels.” A few long moments passed and Jewels' mind screamed at her; her body wasn't reacting, it was as if she was trapped in a stone body trying to claw her way through to the surface. As soon as Jason turned around she realized. Tears instantly started streaming her face, her jaw hung open. Jewels wanted desperately to reach out and to shake him, to tell him that he did love her, and that he did care. He needed to. She needed him to.
"I-I... Jason.." Jewels whispered to him through growing amounts of tears. She knew it was going to make matters worse if she continued to talk, or anything that required sound. This time she stopped herself and turn, her eyes burned now. She couldn't see ground for air but soon she found her corner by following the feel of the wall, she slid down into a seated position and turned her head away from the love of her life's back and her friend into the wall.

Those words that had come from his mouth were not completely true, and maybe Jewels would realize that some day, maybe Jason would even realize that someday. He kept his back to her and closed his eyes, swallowing down his regret for hurting her. His jaw was clenched and his teeth ground hard together in order to keep himself from speaking again, and saying something that could hurt her even more. When she said his name he didn’t move, he didn’t flinch, he didn’t even acknowledge that he’d heard it. He stood there, like a man made of stone, his eyes closed and his body tense. He considered apologizing and trying to retract what he’d said but he knew it wouldn’t matter because any apology for what he had just said to her would have been empty.
The silence was deafening and painful, it was like a physical burning and aching in his head. “What do you want from me, Jewels?” Jason asked his voice significantly softer this time, almost a whisper like her voice had been. “Do you want me to tell you I love you? Do you want me to tell you that I really care about you?” He opened his eyes and turned around to look at her, though he put even more distance between them. He looked away from her, he looked away from Cammie and his eyes were fixed on the ground. He didn’t want to even be in this situation. He sighed and closed his eyes again, like it hurt to look at things.
Half of the things he had said he never would have said if he hadn’t been crashing. He wouldn’t have said anything back to her when she said she loved him. He would have let it go by him like he had to many women before her. “You don’t love me, Jewels.” The singer told her, his voice almost pleading with her to agree with him. If she loved him, he would destroy her, like he destroyed everyone else. If she loved him, he would hurt her… like he hurt Casey, and Janell, and even Amber… “I’m sorry, Jewels…” He murmured quietly to her, shaking his head as he repeated it again, and again. He realized then that he did care about her, but she couldn’t know that, he didn’t want to hurt her any more than he had just hurt her.

Jewels didn't believe him. Not for a single second. He had to care about her.. He had to. How couldn't he when she loved him to the end of the being and back. Jewels' head stayed turned into the wall as the tears continued to stream. She knew, somewhere that he probably didn't care too much, if at all, though even a little bit would've been good enough for her. Her body started to quiver because of her silent sobs and she folded her arms around her chest and began curling in on herself.
His words had the effect of a spear through the heart. Especially the next ones. Jewels debated whether to reply or not, and decided on the former. "What do I want from you?" Her voice was wet and her words came out fragmented from the torrent of tears. She kept her head facing the wall. "All I fucking wanted was you. Dumbass." Jewels couldn't stand not looking at him now. She was furious and he needed to see it, see how bad he hurt her. Jason needed to feel too.
"I don't love you?" She was astounded that he was telling her who she did or did not love. Jason was simply blind; whether he consciously made it that way or not. "If you weren't such a fucking prick and trying to fuck everything that walks you might have noticed everything." Jewels was standing now, her voice raised for the first time. She needed to be loud, she needed to cover the pain with something; yelling seemed the best route. Most of all, she needed to yell at him. To make him see she just wanted him, not his money or his fame or anything but him. Which is definitely more than she could say for everyone else.
"Fuck, Jason. You could ask anybody we hang out with. They'd fucking tell you." She turned away and brought a hand to her face. "They aren't blind like you are." Jewels sighed and moved back to her corner. Before she sat again, turned away from her two cell mates, she said one last thing. "And for the record, you're the only person to ever hear those words from my mouth."

If only she knew how far over the edge she was pushing him. He had a short temper, she knew that, and he didn’t know how much longer he could keep himself in some amount of control. He stood silently, his eyes flashing with anger with every word she said. He acknowledged them as true, he was a prick, he was blind; but he wasn’t that blind. “Do you honestly think I didn’t fucking know?” Jason asked his voice was harsh and cold; he shook his head and scoffed at her. Taking a few steps closer to where she sat. He was resorting to the hard ass cover of himself at this point.
“I’ve known Jewels, I’ve waited every goddamn day for you to get over it!” His words were brutal, and he knew it, they were brutal because the way he said them. Had he been nicer about it, maybe they would just be words, he wasn’t nice. Jason Levito was never nice, not when it came to something like this. “What, did you think you could change me? Did you think I would change for you of all people?” He asked the questions as if they were the most ridiculous thing. He wanted to push her so far away from him that she would hate him; he wanted her to hate him with every fiber in her being. He wanted to hurt her so badly that it would be harder then hell to recover. He wanted her love to turn to hate.
“You’re pathetic.” He muttered to her wanting to hurt her some more. The more he hurt her, the less likely she would ever try to come back to his side. The less likely she would ever even forgive him. “Every day that you’ve loved me you’ve wasted.” Jason laughed at the thought, a cold sick chuckle with that wicked smile capturing his lips. Jason neared Jewels and sank towards the ground, kneeling close to her. He leaned in just a few inches away from her ear and he spoke. “I could never love you. You’re just sex and drugs, Jewels, that’s all your good for.” That one was hard to get out, but he said it without hesitation, he said it like he truly meant it. He stood up and backed away from her slowly before he turned and walked away.
“I’ve destroyed everything I’ve ever touched.” Jason said, the demeanor of his voice changing, becoming so quiet that the words were nearly inaudible.

Jewels was done talking now. There was going to be no more of anything coming from her lips. Jason Levito had finally done it and broke her completely. Especially with his words that came only a few moments after she stopped. Somewhere back in her mind she knew that he had an idea. But she definitely knew he had no idea how much she actually did love him. There was no way for anybody to know, hell Jewels didn't even know the extent of it. Jewels figured that some part of her, no matter how little it ever got, would always love Jason. Even if she only loved the memories, they were still of Jason.
She scoffed as Jason spoke more, her head turned away. A new batch of tears streamed down her face, though not in pain but in sheer anger. It was one thing that she'd always hated about herself; the way that she cried when angry. These tears made her start to shake just as the last ones, but these tremors were from the adrenalin. If Jason wanted her to hate him, he was on the right rack. If he kept talking the way he was going then she surely would snap and do something she'd never done. Something she'd never had to do.
Nobody had ever made Jewels feel the way she felt at that moment. Torn in half, and she knew now that there were some pieces missing and that she'd never be completely whole again. If, she wondered, she were able to get herself even slightly back together again. Her jaw locked at Jason's lowest comment. “I could never love you. You’re just sex and drugs, Jewels, that’s all your good for.” That did it. Grinding her teeth she turned her head, muffling a slow growl with her teeth. As Jason moved away she was on her feet and advancing on him.
His back was to her so she did the only thing she could think of and that was twist him by his shoulder so he was facing her. Only, it wasn't her words that greeted him. It was her fist, thrown at his unprotected cheekbone, with surprising force. Jewels blamed it on the adrenalin, she never would've hit him that hard if she could've helped it. The red head's heart pumped vigorously as she turned away and headed for her corner for the third time within ten minutes. She didn't need to see his face to know she did at least some damage. That was all she wanted. He needed to hurt, and she wanted to be the one who wanted to make him feel. He needed to feel like she did. Broken and bleeding. Jason's injury were more physical, though she was sure that it wasn't even comparable to what she felt.
He deserved it. Jewels told herself as she slid back into her corner. Her arms shook so bad that she folded them into her stomach to hold them steady. Unfortunately her whole body started soon after and she began rocking back and forth, attempting to sooth herself.

When she hit him it took a while to even register what the hell had just happened. He didn’t believe it at first but as soon as the pain became clear, he knew it had happened. She hit him harder, harder then some of the guys that had hit him before. It hurt, but at the same time he was glad it happened. It meant he pushed her over the edge, it meant that she wasn’t coming back to him. He had done what he wanted; he broke her just like he wanted to. She wasn’t coming back and he knew it, she was done with him this time. In a sick way, he had won.
Jason turned his face away from Cammie and looked in the opposite direction where Jewels was. He looked through the bars of the holding cell, trying to get his attention caught on anything. Anything that wasn’t the two women he would be stuck with for the next few hours. His pride was hurt, and hell his face fucking hurt. The thought that maybe he was only going to destroy himself in the end hit him at that moment, he isolated himself, pushing everyone away. Suddenly the effects of what he did tonight hit him even harder then they had before and although involuntary his eyes became coated with tears that would not fall.
He hadn’t cried in a long time, he hadn’t cried in what felt like years. He probably hadn’t cried since that day when he was nine years old and his father blew his brains out in front of him.

Cammie watched the scene unfold, and realized more and more that Jason really was the asshole he'd presented himself as. Naturally, she'd be on Jewels' side. Jewels was her friend, a close friend, one of the few she actually had. Cammie was loyal and protective of her friends, her real friends. Especially over assholes like Jason Levito. Big shot rock star strung out on drugs. And then her friend hit Jason. Her eyes went wide with shock, but she couldn't help feel a sense of admiration for Jewels she hadn't felt for her before. Her friend was standing up for herself in the only way she knew how. "Go Jewels," she mumbled, very quietly. She stood up and crossed Jason, glaring at him, and went over and kneeled down by Jewels, attempting to comfort her.
She wrapped her arms around her friend and whispered things like "sshhh," and, "it'll be alright," to her, rubbing her back or playing with her hair at different intervals, expecting at any second to be pushed aside, to be told that her comfort wasn't wanted, not here, not now. Jewels might not want to be comforted in this way in front of the man she loved, who just broke her heart. Then again, that same man was fighting back tears, it looked like, because of the strength Jewels had. That was probably all she could do. That, and mumble something to Jewels, with clear admiration in her voice. "I didn't know you could hit like that, Jewels. I'm impressed. Remind me never to cross you."
